Ask for evidence, not a reassuring adjective.
“Fast Wi-Fi” is a description. A recent test from the space you will use is a more useful starting point. Ask which room or common area was tested, when the test was taken, whether it used the guest network, and whether there are limits on usage. No single test guarantees future performance.
The message to send before paying.
Hello! I’m considering a working stay on [dates]. Could you share a recent download/upload test from the room or workspace I would use, plus a photo of the desk, chair and nearby sockets? I’ll need [working hours] and [call requirements]. What happens to the router and charging sockets during a power cut, and is there a separate backup connection?
Check the whole working arrangement.
Ask whether the workspace is shared, whether calls are allowed, and when it opens. Find out whether other guests or an evening event could change the noise level. For sensitive conversations, follow your employer’s own privacy and security requirements; an accommodation listing cannot establish compliance for you.
Understand the backup.
A provider saying “power backup” does not tell you whether the internet equipment, room sockets or cooling are included. Ask exactly what keeps running and for how long. A second network is only useful when there is evidence it works where you will be staying.
Leave room for a plan B.
Agree a remedy in writing if the promised workspace or connection is unavailable. Keep your arrival day free of essential calls and check the setup before beginning important work. A café recommendation should also be checked for opening hours, seating and call policies.
